I hope all you Canuks celebrated Canader Day in style on Monday. We made a special trip back to town so we could have a few cold refreshing ones at a bar owned by a couple guys from Ottawa. Steve treated me to a burger and a poutine and we had a fun evening adorned in temporary maple leaf tattoos and listening to Brain Adams, Barenaked Ladies and Leonard Cohen. I can officially put my Canada Flag t-shirt away for another year.
And we also recently had our shortest day of the year, the official start of winter for us here in the southern hemisphere. The cool southerly breezes are keeping us cuddled under blankets at night but at least we can have hot showers now that we have a solar shower bag, thanks to Michelle and Greg! (Steve Sister & Husband)
We have topped up on diesel, gasoline and propane, filled the dive tanks and have extended our VISA’s for another two months in anticipation of heading south to the Ha’apai group in the next week or so. That is provided the part for our outboard arrives and the weather co-operates. It has been blowing 30+kts for the last few days and is forecast to continue until at least tomorrow so we are happy to be on a mooring and have a little less on our minds, especially after dark.
I am currently working on the website, there is a nice little cafe in town with kind of fast internet, so take a peak when you have a chance and don’t forget to sign the new guestbook!!
We will let you know before we head south. Hear from you soon,
